Central Michigan University walkout

The Central Michigan University walkout took place on March 14, at 10 a.m. at the Fabiano Botanical Garden.

Students, faculty, staff, and administration gathered for 17 minutes of silence outside the garden.  The purpose of the protest is to demand Congress for better legislative action on gun control.

Jackie Smith, Vice President of College of Democrats, helped orchestrate the event with the help of the Registered Student Organization and Women’s March Youth EMPOWER. Smith was the main speaker at the event.

The event brought in a large crowd of students with various opinions on what should be done about the gun laws in this country.
